Community Can Be Tricky, But God Isn’t

The enemy has nothing new.

His tactics are the same.

He comes to “steal, kill & destroy.

If we have a genuine, personal relationship with Our Father, we know His voice & can easily discern the lies of a counterfeit.

We can walk in His will, so that being outside of it feels foreign & unnatural.

We are fluent in the nature of God, because we abide in & belong to Him.

Still – we allow ourselves to grow comfortable within our communities. Trusting, relying on & spending more time with our spiritual leaders & neighbors than with God.

It’s so subtle, yet the fallout can be crushing.

We question God’s goodness & blame Him because of the actions of His people – we allow “Church Hurt” to push us further from Him…

But He didn’t change.

He never went anywhere – we did.

It’s so important to be a part of the Body of Christ (the Church), but it should never replace our personal, intimate relationship with Him.

Be aware of your allegiances – never putting anything above God.

We can turn good things like memberships, positions, ministries, or friendships into idols, without even realizing it.

Until they let us down. (Because they certainly will.)

I challenge you to take a step back & evaluate where your heart is truly focused.

Are you still chasing after God & serving Him in obedience?

Or are you chasing after acceptance, community, recognition, or *fill in the blank*?

My church family has carried me through some of the darkest days of my life… because they loved on me & my family & prayed bold prayers on our behalf…but they are not God.

I don’t recommend walking out this life alone. We weren’t created to. But we cannot put our faith in imperfect people.

God weighs our hearts, while people can only assume.

You can sell personal belongings on a Saturday to provide for those in need….only to have your character questioned by those in your church community a few days later….& God is still the same.

They have the ability to break your heart or lift you up from the darkness….

& God is still the same.

So many are rejecting God & using the wounds inflicted by people as an excuse to justify themselves.

You can try every church in the state & still be disappointed if you are looking for a building full of perfect people instead of a church that stands on the Word of God, above all else.

Don’t allow those wounds to keep you from His perfect love!

He will NEVER leave you or forsake you!

He is close to the brokenhearted & for that, I am forever grateful that I can rely on Him.

I’m praying today for peace in your community & for a renewed & strengthened relationship with Our Father!! 💕
