Every time I witness someone trying to relate to & understand sin, making excuses for it & attempting to accept “just a little bit of sin”, I am reminded of a movie scene that was seared into my adolescent brain – not realizing until pretty recently – why it has remained so unsettling & replays randomly in my memory throughout the years.
The movie was “Independence Day” & the President & his men came into a lab where the scientist had been killed by the alien.
At first, they hear in the scientist’s own voice, “Release me”, so one of the men orders them to open the door & get him out of there! Thankfully, someone else stops then from opening the door…
Upon observation , it is revealed that the alien was using it’s fingers around the the scientist’s throat & manipulating it to speak!
Realizing they are able to communicate with the alien, the President attempts to reason with the alien, compassionately offering a peace treaty & pleading to “coexist”.
To their dismay, they all appear to be completely baffled by the alien’s uncouth response to the offer, as the President then asks him, “What do you want us to do?” The message was loud & clear as the alien simply replied, “DIE!”
The enemy isn’t to be tolerated & certainly cannot be reasoned with!
God’s Word already warned us that the enemy comes ONLY to steal, kill & destroy.
We can’t “coexist” with evil! Nor should we want to! We must RESIST the devil!!
Wickedness isn’t interested in singing kumbaya with us!
It’s time to realize our authority, get back into alignment with God, & stop trying to reason with that which is UNREASONABLE!
He doesn’t care about your feelings. He doesn’t care about what is “right” or “fair”. He wants to kill you.
Because the wages of sin is death! It’s very simple. There are no grey areas or blurred lines.
It’s time we stand up to evil & stop letting it torment us.
